SRS Hotel Management System

Suppose we have a hotel name “XYZ Hotel” and the hotel owner wants to shift the overall
activities of hotel proceedings to a website. So, we need to build a website that contains a home page of the hotel. Through the home page, a user can check the prices of different rooms in the hotel. The user will have to become a registered user to book a room in the hotel and only available rooms will be displayed to the user. The hotel management system will have a separate admin panel which will contain the functionality of managing the users, hotel employees, and the room prices of the Hotel.

 


 

Scope of Project Hotel Management System:

Project scope is the part of project planning that involves determining and documenting a list of specific project  goals, deliverables, tasks, costs and deadlines. Defining the project scope involves adopting a clear vision and an agreement on the outcomes of the project. This allows each milestone of the project to stay on target

Functional and Non Functional Requirements of Hotel Management System:

Functional Requirements :

A functional requirement shows that what the system must do what services the system present to users. It describes a software system or its component. A function is nothing but inputs to the software system, its behavior, and outputs

Functional Requirements of Hotel Management System:

1. User login and sign up. 2. Admin login. 3. User should be able to select dates for room booking. 4. Only available rooms should be displayed to the user. 5. User should be able to book a room online. 6. Payment status of room booking should be displayed to the user. 7. Admin should be able to manage the Room prices. 8. Reports in the form of graphs regarding the Hotel e.g Total number of rooms booked monthly and number of vacant rooms should be displayed on admin dashboard. 9. Admin should be able to See and update the list of hotel Employees. 10. Admin should be able to modify the information of hotel employees. 11. Admin should be able to change the rooms booking or cancel the rooms booking. 12. Admin should be able to see the list of registered users. 13. Admin should be able to change the information of users. 14. Admin should be able to delete a hotel employee or user

NON-FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS Hotel Management System:

  • Application is user friendly.
  • Application Perform fast manipulation and calculations.
  • Application is adaptable.
  • Application will be able to work on all types of operating systems.
  • Application will be capable to handle multi user activities simultaneously.
  • There will be back up system to face any problem in system
  • All the options should be learning friendly I.e. member could easily understand what that option will do if he clicked on it.

ADOPTED METHODOLOGY for Hotel Management System:

The adopted methodology for this project is vu process model. Vu process model is a combination of water-fall model and spiral model. This combination has many advantages. This model has high risk analysis so avoidance of risk would be achieved. This model is easy to understand and use. Now first we will discuss the Water-fall model.
